I guess he spotted you with your lens pointed at him, so he's showing off. What a delightful shot.
vintage: You could be right about that

I have always wanted to do it. Well done.
vintage: o to fly
Very considerate of you to give it a long runway, Vintage...these birds are wonderful fliers, but seem under-equipped with brakes.
vintage: they need time to take off landing can be on the spot
This is a nice one, Vintage. I love the colour reflections on the water and the birds pose is perfect...
vintage: Thank you very much

Well caught - I like the simplicity of this shot and the position of the bird.

vintage: Thanks a million Ingrid
Scoping things out as only these birds can do, Vintage! A good meal is to be found...soon, I bet. In this moment, I would love being that bird, skimming over the top of the water!
vintage: the way mother nature planned it all seem wonderful it's just us humans that cause problems
This is gorgeous!!! The lines in the water and the reflection is great!

vintage: Don't think so just joinning freinds they were just out of this picture
Oh I am so jealous! hehe! This is lovely (and a shot I have been trying to get for months with no luck! Ugh!) Not only is the subject beautiful, but the photo is perfectly composed.
vintage: SuRi thank you for your comment.I have a few photos of birds in flight but it is difficut,I admire your insect capture of recent times.
They always remind me of Sunderland bombers.... big undercarriage and seemingly carrying too much bulk to fly.
A terrific image, and a sense of space captured in the framing of the bird to the right. Superb
vintage: Takeing off looks dificult but landing is remarkable smooth. Thanks for dropping in
I like the way you have cropped it to keep the bird and its reflection over to one side, leaving all the texture in the water to smooth off into the distance.
vintage: Thank you for your kind comment Sheila
